" LET ME KNOW "

MY RHYME TODAY IS DIFFERANT FROM THE USUAL EVERYDAY THING.

SOMETHING I CAME ACROSS ON THE NET MADE ME START TO THINK.

I WONDERED HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE  HAD NICKNAMES IN YOUR TIME.

SO I THOUGHT YES  THATS MY TOPIC FOR MONDAYS "SIMPLE RHYME".

WHEN I WAS A YOUNG SCHOOLGIRL MY NICKNAME WAS " WHIPPET QUICK ". (HA)

BECAUSE I WAS THE FASTEST RUNNER SO THIS NAME  IT DID STICK.

FROM  ELEVEN YEAR OLD TO FIFTEEN THIS LABEL I ALWAYS HAD.

IT WASN'T A NASTY NICKNAME SO I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS BAD.

WHEN I LEFT SCHOOL A TEENAGER  I WANTED  TO DIE MY HAIR.

MUCH  LIGHTER THAN AT THIS TIME AS IT WAS ONLY  FAIR.

SO  I BOUGHT A LIGHTENING PRODUCT  AND PUT THE BOTTLE  FULL ON.

IT TURNED MY HAIR MUCH LIGHTER TO A VERY NICE  LIGHT BLONDE.(HA)

SO FRIENDS THEY CALLED ME " BLONDIE " THEN MY NICKNAME NOW WAS NEW.

I DIDN'T REALY WANT THIS NAME BUT IN TIME ON ME IT GREW.

THEN AFTER I WAS MARRIED THE VILLAGE  BARMAID I BECAME.

AND A  CUSTOMER CHRISTENED ME "DOLLY" SO NOW ANOTHER NAME .

I SUPPOSE BECAUSE IN THEM DAYS WE WORE THE PARTON  STYLE (HA)

SO THAT  NAME SEEMED TO STICK AROUND ALSO FOR A WHILE.

THEN ONE DAY  I WAS CHATTING AT HOME WITH SOME  DEAR  FRIENDS.

AND MY SON SAID DO YOU KNOW MUM YOUR CLUCKING  NEVER ENDS.

YOU CAN CLUCK  FOR ENGLAND (HA) AND SO SAID THERE AND  THEN.

I'M CHRISTENING YOU AGAIN  MUM  YOUR NEW
NAMES   "MOTHEREHEN" . (HA).

YOU NEVER  NEVER  STOP CLUCKING AND I THOUGHT  HEY !! THATS NOT BAD.

HE SAID AND YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHAT I'M CHRISTENING DAD.

I SAID I DO NOT KNOW SON WHAT IS IT TO BE.

HE SAID HE'S "RODG THE ROOSTER " WELL THAT JUST CRACKED UP  ME (HA).

I CHUCKLED AND I LAUGHED AT HIM OUR FRIENDS SAID  WE LIKE THEM NAMES.

SO WE DECIDED THESE WOULD BE OUR PERMANENT NEW NICKNAMES. (HA)

SO NOW I'M KNOWN AS " MOTHERHEN"  UP TO THIS VERY DAY.

AND "RODG THE ROOSTER" THAT HAS STUCK WE USE THESE NAMES EACH DAY.

THE REASON  I DID WRITE  THIS RHYME IS AS ABOVE  I SAID.

THE OTHER DAY UPON THE NET THIS PICTURE  KNOCKED  ME DEAD.

I SPOTTED IT THERE JUST BY CHANCE SO I WANTED YOU ALL TO KNOW.

I SNAGGED  IT FROM THE NET AND PLACED IT HERE IN MY RHYME TO  SHOW.

WHAT ME AND MY PARNER LOOK LIKE IT'S EXACTLY  AS WE ARE.

WHEN WER'E ON OUR HOLIDAYS EACH  YEAR  BE WE NEAR OR FAR.

I HOPE YOU GET A LAUGH FROM IT  AS I DID ON THAT DAY.

AND I THINK THIS WILL BE MY LAST NICKNAME SO TELL ME YOURS TODAY.

" LET ME KNOW"  IN YOUR COMMENT  A NICKNAME WHAT YOUV'E HAD IN TIME.

AS I'D LOVE TO KNOW WHAT ELSE YOU WERE  CALLED HERE IN

                                         "MY SIMPLE RHYME".

"MOTHEREHEN"         AND     " RODG THE ROOSTER"

(  NOTICE THE SIGN  OVER THE BED THIS IS THE LIFE  )

                                                    HE-HE-HE !!!!!!!!!!

                                          HE-HE-HE !!!!

HAVE A LOVELY MONDAY EVERYONE .

                                         KATH Astoriasand.

Very good pic lol I have had a couple of nicknames but the latest was Mrs Badger, when my hubby was young he was a punk rocker and his hair was balck with 2 white stripes so he got the nickname badger and they labled me mrs lol, it also goes with our surname which means (apparently) badger keeper.

The only nickname that I have had for 30 some years has been 'Ma'  and sometimes now Grand'ma'  and sometimes they just call me Big 'Ma' .  When they were younger I was called Mommy, but by teen years it became 'Ma' -  'On Ya' - ma

haha I love it!  I am always so inspired by your talent to be able to come up with such wonderful rhymes Kath! I did so enjoy this one.  I had a nicname in school for awhile, which I really didn't like so I won't repeat it here, but then again later on in high school my best friend and I used to get called Ernie and Bert from off of the Sesame Street show.  I was Ernie coz I was shorter than her and I was a bit jollier I guess...she was Bert as she had heavy eyebrows, lol.  when I think back on it now, t'wasn't very nice was it.  Oh well, we survived!  Have a great day!

Hi Kath,
I cant say that I had a nickname at school, but my ex partner used to call me "Piggy",  Not because of my size or what I ate, but I'm not going to tell you why, as I will beable to hear you laughing all the way from your place to mine,

What a great rhyme today Kath. Well, I have had a few nicknames in my life already, and I am only seventeen. Since I was small, my family always called me "Cheeky Monkey" or "Trouble" lol! In school, I have been known as "Leigh boy" and "The Singing Boy".

Hope you're having a great Monday.
Best wishes,
Leigh :-)

Lovely Rhyme Kath.  As a child my dad used to call me Fat Anna (which wasn't very nicewas it?) - "Little Fat Anna, she sat on a tanner and squashed it into a threepenny bit" <lol>.  These days I'm Boggins Senior.  My sister is Boggns Junior.  No idea why, it just happened.  Purely by coincidence though, try putting Angie into your mobile hpone on predictive texting and see what comes up.  And that really is pure cxoincidence!
Angie, xx

I simply love this story.  My Father-in-law always gave every single person in the family a nickname.  C.Y. was "Charlie horsepower" because he was so strong.  I was of course "Mrs Horsepower".  LOL  Loved your final names!

Other than my screen name that is short for my last name that all of my family uses and what we called our Dad's brother 'Trib';    I had a girlfriend in high school that said I had a nose like a Muskrat.    After kissing her how could I feel insulted, lol .    mark

Well, I've had some odd nicknames. Here they are, from the first one to the present day one: Bird legs (LOL- going through puberty here), Stretch, Bubbles, Bobbie, Hot Lips, and today, Angel Face.
Listing these gave me my laugh for the day. LOVE your entries. They always make me smile.
