"NOT SO VERY LONG AGO"

NOT VERY LONG AGO AS YOU KNOW THERE WAS AN OLD MOTHERHEN.

WHO DECIDED SHE WANTED TO LOOK AROUND AND FIND HERSELF  A NEW PEN.

SHE WASN'T VERY HAPPY LIVING AROUND  THE COAST.

SO DECIDED THAT FOR HER LATTER YEARS SHE WANTED TO MAKE THE MOST.

SHE ASKED THE OLD ROOSTER NICELY ARE YOU COMING WITH ME TOO.

HE REPLIED NO SORRY I'LL HAVE TO STAY HERE IV'E LOTS OF WORK HERE TO DO.

WELL VERY DISSAPOINTED SHE WAS MOTHERHEN SHE ANSWERED  OK.

IF THATS THE WAY IT IS THEN I'LL GO STRUUT OFF AND  MAKE MY OWN WAY.

ROOSTER I KNOW HE WAS OH SO SAD AND GETTING ON IN YEARS .

AND TO MOVE AND TRY FIND  WORK AGAIN WAS HIS GREATEST FEAR.

MOTHERHEN SHE SAID ALL HER GOODBYES AND TROTTED OFF ALL  ALONE.

LOTS AND LOTS OF MILES SHE TRAVELLED TO FIND HERSELF A NEW LITTLE HOME.

NOT KNOWING WHAT WAS ROUND THE CORNER AND SHE TOO WAS VERY SAD.

AT LEAVING HER OLD ROOSTER FEELING GUILTY AND VERY BAD.

BUT SOMETIMES SHE THOUGHT YOU HAVE TO MAKE  DECISIONS ABOUT THESE THINGS.

ESPECIALLY WHEN THERE WAS  PAIN IN HER HEART AND THE OCEAN IT DIDN'T BRING.

HAPPINESS TO  OLD MOTHERHEN  WHEN SHE LOVED ENGLANDS GREENLAND SO MUCH.

AND ALL HER LITTLE CHICKS AND OFFSPRINGS EACH DAY SHE COULDN'T TOUCH.

WELL SHE FINALLY FOUND A LITTLE NEAT PEN TO CALL HER HOME AGAIN.

THINKING TO HERSELF AND WONDERING IF SHE'D GET RID OF HER PAIN.

NEVER MIND SHE THOUGHT ONE DAY I KNOW ALL WILL TURN OUT WELL.

THEN ANOTHER EPISODE  OF HER LIFE SHE WILL HAVE TO TELL.

SO SHE SET ABOUT MAKING THE LITTLE PEN TIDY AND OH SO NEAT.

FOR ALL HER CHICKS AND OFFSPRINGS TO WELCOME AND TO GREET.

SOME OTHER MOTHERHENS JUST COULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE REASON  WHY.

AFTER SO MANY YEARS ROOSTER HE LET HER GO STRUTTING AND WATCHED HER CRY.

WELL ROOSTER HE DIDN'T LET HER GO STRUTTING  AT ALL I HOPE YOU WILL  SEE.

HE KEPT CONTACT WITH HER OFTEN YES FROM OVER THERE  BY THE SEA.

THEN ONE DAY HE CALLED IN AND OFFERED HIS HELP TO HIS OLD MOTHERHEN.

TO DO SOME HEAVY JOBS  FOR HER INSIDE MOTHERHENS  PEN.

A LONG LONG WAY HE TRAVELLED BACK AND FORTH HE CAME.

ONE DAY  WHEN IT WAS LASHING DOWN WITH HEAVY  POURING RAIN.

BUT HE WAS OH SO HAPPY TO BE AROUND MOTHERHEN ONCE MORE.

WHEN SHE OPENED AND WELCOMED HIM INSIDE THROUGH HER HEN PEN DOOR.

MOTHERHEN HAD BEEN SO BUSY SHE'D DONE ALSORTS HE WAS SO SUPRIZED.

HE STOOD AND LOOKED AND CLUCKED OUT LOUD I CARN'T BELIEVE MY EYES.

WHO NEEDS A ROOSTER HE CLUCKED AND CLUCKED WITH MOTHERHEN AROUND.

PLEASED HE WAS TO SEE HER SO  HAPPY BACK ON HER HOME GROUND.

"HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS " I KNOW HE SAID TO HER THAT DAY.

I DO UNDERSTAND YOU FULLY MOTHEREHN WHAT MORE IS THERE TO SAY.

NOTHING CHUCKLED OLD MOTHERHEN I'M PLEASED YOU UNDERSTAND .

BUT IT'S NOT MUCH FUN FOR MOTHERHEN SOMETIMES BEING A ONE MAN BAND.

I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT AND ALWAYS WILL ROOSTER YOU ARE SO GOOD.

PLEASE WILL YOU GET CRACKING AND DO SOME JOBS WITH THIS WOOD .  HE-HE

SO ROOSTER HE SET OUT HIS TOOLBOX   AND WORKED ALL OF THE DAY.

DRILLING THIS AND THAT JUST PERFECT THE MOTHEREHENS DECORATIVE WAY.

CLUCK CLUCK  SHE WAS SO DELIGHTED AND GAVE HIM A VERY BIG PECK.

SAYING THANKYOU ROOSTER IF YOU HADN'T DONE IT I'D HAVE RUNG YOUR NECK.   HE-HE.

SO EVERYTHINGS COMING ALONG NICELY YES I WOULD SAY PERFECTLY.

NOW MOTHERHEN IS SETTLING IN AND LIVING AWAY FROM  THE SEA..

SHE'S GOING TO STRUTT IN THE GARDEN TODAY PULLING AT ALL THE WEEDS.

SOON SHE WILL BE PLANTING AGAIN LIKE HER OLD  GARDEN FLOWERS AND SEEDS.

SO FOR YOU WHO HAVE ASKED THIS IS THE STORY OF  ROOSTER AND MOTHERHEN.

WHO LEFT HIM BUT STILL LOVED HIM AND NOW THERE BEST FRIENDS AGEN.

WHAT SUITS ONE DON'T  SUIT ANOTHER SOMETIMES IN OUR LIFE.

BUT AFTER THIRTY THREE YEARS TOGETHER THROUGH  TROUBLE AND THROUGH  STRIFE.

BRINGING UP FOUR YOUNG CHICKLETS STANDING SIDE BY SIDE.

NEVER GOING ASTRAY AT ALL UNTIL THIS TICKET TO RIDE.

IT'S HARD TO SAY GOODBYE AT TIMES WHEN YOU FEEL  LIKE THIS .

SO THEY  MADE IT UP AND CLUCKED TOGETHER SEALING IT WITH A KISS.

ONE DAY I MAY GO OVER TO VISIT THE ROOSTER AGAIN  BY THE SEA.

AND WHEN THE ROOSTER IS NOT WORKING HARD HE'LL PROBABLY VISIT ME.

MOTHERHEN LOVES THE LAVERHILLS AT HOME CAN YOU SEE THEM UP ABOVE.

WHERE IN SUMMER SHE WILL STRUTT FOR MILES WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT SHE LOVES.

NOT EVERY MOTHERHEN WILL AGREE WITH THIS ARRANGEMENT  I'M SURE.

BUT NEVER WILL OTHER ROOSTERS COME THROUGH OLD  MOTHERHENS  DOOR.

WE BOTH HAVE TRUST IN ONE ANOTHER VERY VERY MUCH.

ALWAYS HAVE HAD IT'S A  PRIORITY WHEN YOUR OUT OF TOUCH.

IV'E LEARNED MANY LESSONS ABOUT ROOSTERS THIS OLD MOTHERHEN.

ONE OF THEM IS KNOWING YOU HAD ONE OF THE BEST OF THEM.

BECAUSE FRIENDS HE IS SIMPLY THE BEST AND I FEEL HE  ALWAYS WILL.

STAND BY OLD MOTHERHEN AND KEEP HER HAPPY RIGHT UNTIL.

THE GOOD LORD  WANTS MOTHERHEN FOR HIMSELF TO HELP HIM UP ABOVE .

THATS THE ONLY TIME I FEEL THE ROOSTER WILL LOSE  HIS ONLY TRUE  LOVE .

I KNOW THIS IN MY HEART DEEP DOWN AS I DID WHEN I WENT OFF TO ROAM.

TO COME BACK TO THE GREEN GREEN GRASS WHICH I'LL ALWAYS  CALL MY HOME.

SO IF YOU HAVE A ROOSTER FRIENDS WHO IS GOOD IN EVERY WAY.

HE MAY HAVE FAULTS BUT MOTHERHENS DO TOO UNTIL THERE OLD AND GREY.

LOOK AFTER HIM AND TREAT HIM WELL YOU NEVER NEVER KNOW.

WHAT YOU WOULD DO WITHOUT HIM IF EVER HE HAD TO GO.

SO TILL NEXT TIME MOTHERHEN WRITES YOU A FEW  MORE OF HER LINES.

I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND US BOTH AND YOU ENJOY  " MY SIMPLE  RHYMES "

I HAVE REMOVED TH EPICTURES FOR SECURITY REASONS .
HE-HE HAVE A LOVELY DAY YOURSELVES GOD BLESS KATH XX

You certainly have a lovely new home Kath.  I can totally undersand why you had to do what you had to do.  Pity the poor old rooster could not make the move with you, but so glad you are able to stay heartfelt friends with each other and who knows what tommorrow will bring.  Your loyalty is one of the things I love most about you Kath . . . that, and your lovely rhyming talents, not to mention a whole bunch of other lovely things!  I just LOVE you to bits!

Oh, Kath, such a sweet, sad, happy time you've gone through.  I think everybody and every couple does what's best for them.  You and your Rooster will be just fine.  I know people ask me all the time why my BF doesn't live with me.  It just works better that way but the love is there.  I know it had to be so hard to move after all those years but you seem so content right now.  LOL...I bet he was shocked when he saw how much you had done but I also bet he was proud.  You both will visit.  You know how time flies.  I can't wait to see what you do with your flowers this year.  Kath, you are so brave.  It's so hard to pick up and move.  Have a good Thursday!  Love xx Chris

I do hope you enjoy the new pen and all the work you've done is worhwhile.
Your rooster is an understanding man and I know you must miss him for sure.
I enjoyed the pictures of your countryside and hope you have some nice weather to get out in the garden to work.  I will be working but not here in the flower beds but behind a desk at work today.  'On Ya' -ma

Awww Kath such BEAUTIFUL flowers and such! I don't think I would like living by the coast either. :(  I understand you Kath... and I can understand Rooster with the work force. They say that absense makes the heart fonder. lol You and Rooster are in my prayers.  I would love to sit on that bench and have some tea with you. :-) God Bless, Janie

Soulmates don't always need to stay together. Just knowing each other is there is enough.

It shows true commitment that you can live apart together, Kath

Your new place looks beautiful Kath, and you are in a beautiful part of the country.
I have the best of both worlds at the moment.  I live in the country and I have a caravan on the coast, which works for me.
I also know that living apart can work well.  We did it for 13yrs.
I hope you can make it work for you and the Rooster, and maybe one day....who knows!!!  Good luck Kath.  I wish you both well.
Hugs

I am glad that you are happy and content in your lovely home.
So many times,  we senior citizens fear change more than
anything.  It talkes a leap of faith to get out of our comfort
zone.  I admire your courage and wish you much happiness
in your new place.  Have  a  great day.   Blessings,   Pat

This was so lovely it brought tears to my eyes.  I am hopeless romantic and reading the true love story of you and rooster touched my heart so much.  You are a strong woman and should be so proud of yourself and your dear rooster.  He sounds like one heck of a man.

That was so lovely. I do understand how one's happiness can be dampened by a certain environment. Your craving for green hills makes plenty of sense to me. (Of course, I am craving the opposite: the sea!) Enjoy your Hen Pen! --Cin
