AROUND LOUISIANA WHERE MY SON IS STAYING NOW.
IT LOOKS SO LUSH AND GREEN I WAS SUPRIZED AT NOTHING BROWN.
THE SUNSHINE BEAMS DOWN VERY HOT BUT STORMS THEY ALSO PLAY.
A VERY BIG PART IN THE WEATHER IT POURS DOWN EVERY DAY.
IT SEEMED TO BE EACH EVENING TIME WHICH I THINK IS JUST RIGHT.
SUNSHINE THROUGH THE DAYTIME AND RAINSTORMS THEN AT NIGHT.
ARE REALY GOOD FOR THE LAND AND PLANTS SO IT WAS A JOY TO SEE.
BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS AND GREENERY WHICH MEANS SO MUCH TO ME.
NO NEED FOR UMBERELLA'S NO GETTING WET DIVINE.
WELL WHEN LIKE KATH YOUR INSIDE EATING AT "THE LONGHORN" AND SIPPING WINE HE-HE.

TALL TREES THEY ARE SO NUMEROUS AND THE BUILDINGS THEY SURROUND.
THEY STAND LIKE TOWERING TELEGRAPH POLES SO UPRIGHT IN THE GROUND.
THE BUILDERS DO NOT HACK THEM DOWN SO IF IN YOUR GARDEN THEY ARE.
I'M AFRAID YOU HAVE TO KEEP THEM AND THEY CAN BE SEEN FROM VERY FAR.

SON TOOK US TO THE RIVER WHERE HE GOES TO THE BOATCLUB THERE.
TO SEE IF WE COULD SEE ALIGATORS HERE WE STOOD AND STARED.

BEFORE WE WENT I BOUGHT MARSHMALLOWS TO THROW FOR THEM TO EAT.
SONS FRIEND OWNS AN ALIGATOR FARM AND TOLD ME IT'S THERE TREAT. HE-HE
SO OFF WE RODE WITH ME IN THE BACK SEAT OF HIS LOVELY SUV.
MUCH HIGHER UP IN THIS VEHICLE WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT I LOVE.

AS I SEE MORE ON MY JOURNEY AND I CLICKED AND SNAPPED AWAY.
PICTURES OF INTERESTING THINGS I SAW ON THIS LOVELY HOT SUMMERS DAY.
AS WE APPROACHED WE SAW HIS FRIEND ARRIVING WITH HIS LOVELY BOAT.
TO TAKE US A RIDE ON THE LAKE I WAS HOPING IT STOPPED AFLOAT HE-HE.

A VERY SCENIC SETTING WITH THE RIVER THERE BESIDE.
OTHER BOATS THERE ALSO IF YOU FANCIED FOR A RIDE.

I THREW MY TREATS IN THE RIVER BUT ALAS NO GATORS APPEARED.
I WAS HAPPY IN A WAY OF THIS AS I'M AFRAID OF THEM AND FEARED.
IF ONE SHOULD POP UP QUICKLY I WOULD HAVE JUMPED OUT OF MY SKIN.
MAYBE THERE ALL SLEEPING I QUIETLY SAID TO HIM. HE-HE.
I SPOTTED THIS TINY SQUIRREL NEARBY AND HE SEEMED TO LIKE ME TOO.
HE WAS SITTING UP IN FRONT OF ME AS IF SAYING GIVE ME A FEW.

WHEN HE SAW MY BAG OF MARSHMALLOWS I THINK HE THOUGHT THEY WERE FOR FOR HIM.
BUT I IMAGINED THEM STICKING TO HIS CLAWS WHAT A FUNNY SIGHT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN.
NO MATTER WHAT I DID HE WOULDN'T LEAVE HE SAT SO GOOD.
THEN WHEN SON AND FRIENDS APPROACHED ME HE DASHED INTO THE WOOD.
FROM HERE WE CARRIED ONWARDS TO GO TO THE SAFARI PARK.
TO SEE SOME OF THERE WILDLIFE BEFORE IT GOT TOO DARK.

WE ENTERED THE RECEPTION ANOTHER LOVELY SHOP. WHOO-HOO !!
WHEN A VOICE SQUARKED OUT "HELLO FOLKS" I LOOKED AROUND IN SHOCK.
THERE PERCHED HIGH UP SAT ON A BRANCH INSIDE A BIG HIGH CAGE.
A JACKDAW WHO IF YOU DON'T SAY HELLO TO GOES INTO SUCH A RAGE. HE-HE.
THE LADY AT THE COUNTER WAS TELLING US ALL THIS.
HE THEN SHOUTS OUT "COME ON GALS GIVE OLD JACK A KISS" HE-HE HE.

I WAS ROLLING OVER LAUGHING THEN THE SERIOUS PART IT STARTS.
WHEN I SAW THE LOVELY GOODS ON SALE IPULLED MY PURSE APART .
TO BUY SOME LOVELY GIFTS AGAIN AND I SHOPPED UNTIL I DROPPED.

(THE CHILDREN BOUGHT ANIMAL FLY CATCHERS )HE-HE
UNTIL IT WAS TIME AND THE TRAIN CAME SO UP WE GOT AND HOPPED.
WE BOUGHT A SACK OF FOOD IN THERE FOR THE ANIMALS TO EAT.
CHOISE OF A BUCKET OR A SACK AS THIS IS THERE DAILY TREAT.
WELL A BUCKET WOULDN'T LAST LONG THE LADY SAID TO US.
SO YES IT HAD TO BE A SACK WITHOUT MAKING NO FUSS.
WE GOT SAT DOWN QUITE COMFY IN THE TRAILERS TO TOUR THE RANGE.
I KNEW I WAS GOING TO ENJOY ALL THIS A COMPLETELY DIFFERANT CHANGE.

BOY WHAT A DAY IT PROVED TO BE WE HAD A LAUGH A MINUTE.
ESPECIALLY AT THE LARGE GIRAFFE WHEN HE STUCK HIS NOSE RIGHT IN IT. HE-HE.
HE WASN'T WAITING FOR US TO OFFER OUR CUPS FULL UP TO FEED HIM.
HE REACHED INSIDE NO PROBLEM AND I SAT THERE WITH A GRIN.. HE-HE

HE LET US STROKE HIS NOSE AND VERY TAME HE SEEMED TO BE.
THEN THIS GREAT BIG GREEDY DEER CAME RUNNING RIGHT ALONG SIDE OF ME.
EVERYTIME I TRIED TO FEED HIM HE PINCHED THE CUP FROM ME.
PUT HIS TOUNGE TO THE SIDE AND TEETH GRIPPED TIGHT HE SWALLOWED THE LOT HE-HE.
HE THEN WOULD DROP THE CUP DOWN WHEN EMPTY ONTO THE FLOOR.
AND WITH HIS HOOF HE KICKED IT LIKE A FOOTBALLER WHEN TRYING TO SCORE.HE-HE.
CHARGEING BACK AGAIN HE STICKS HIS HEAD INSIDE THE TRAIN.
AS IF TO SAY COME ON YOU LOT I WANT MORE FOOD AGAIN . HE-HE.

THE BABY GIRAFFES ALL SEEMED TO LIKE TO EAT OUT OF YOUR PALM.
SO WE SPREAD OUR HANDS OUT FLAT AND THEY WOULD EAT IT NICE AND CALM.

SOME OF THE ANIMALS HERE YOU WILL SEE SOAKING IN THE SUN.
THESE LIVE IN THE SLUDGE AND LAKE FROM MORN UNTIL DAYS DONE.
WHEN THEY SAW THE TRAIN THEY CAME RUNNING ALL OF THEM MESSED UP.
IN CLAY AND SLUDGE BUT THEY ONLY COME OUT WHEN THEY WANT A CUP.
THE REIGNDEER THEY WERE CHASING ALL THE LITTLE GEESE AWAY.
AND THE WARDEN TOLD US HE HAS TO FEED THEM BY THEMSELVES EACH DAY.

AS THE OTHER ANIMALS WILL NOT LET THEM GET NEAR ANY FOOD.
SO THEY WADDLED OFF SO FUNNY LOOKING IN A VERY SAD MOOD.
WE HAD THREE HOURS OUT ON THE TRAIN AND I'D HAD A NICE GOOD SHOP.
SO INTO MY SONS CAR WE HEADED ON HOMEAND I FELT FIT TO DROP.
IT HAD BEEN A VERY LONG DAY MY FRIENDS SO I SETTLED DOWN ON THE SETTEE.
WITH SOME LOVELY ENGLISH CHOCKY BISCUITS AND A NICE HOT CUP OF TEA.
KEEP YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN FOR ANOTHER ADVENTURE OF MINE.
WHICH I WILL POST ONCE AGAIN VERY SOON HERE IN " MY SIMPLE RHYME ".

I've been sitting here enjoying reading about your adventures and looking at the pictures. So glad you had a nice time. Paula
Thankyou Mary for all your past comments and the lovely words you have sent me this week by E.Mail.
This was lovely, as ever, Laughing Kath! I could almost hae been there with you. Your Rhymes are fabulous and if anyone EVER tells you different then yah-boo-sucks to them, they are fools.
love, Angie, xxx
Oh Kath! What a wonderful time you have had! It is so good to have you back and posting your rhyming words. I missed you and your words more than you can imagine! My day definitely was missing something important ! I do love an African safari adventure park visit! They are so much fun. It looks as if you have had a lovely time with your family . I think your son must love you very much to want to show this fabulous time. I didn't get an alert for this. I know not why! I had to check on my own, but never fear, knowing that you are home now I will check in regularly to see if you have posted any of your lovely prose! Oh how I wish we lived close so that we could sit and share a cuppa and chat. I think we could be lovely friends my dear sweet Kath. If anyone dast ever say anything nasty about your rhymes they can't be much of a person in my opinion. Don't give in to the negativity Kath, there are ever so many more people out here in J Land that love you and love your rhymes. Just ignore the nasties. They don't deserve your attention or anyone else's for that matter!

What a lovely time you had. One day seems to get better than the last on your trip. I'll be waiting for the next entry. Thanks for the e-mail on the alerts. Although I did get a few today, yours was not one of them, so I'm glad you took the time to let us know. I love your rhyming holiday ! 'On Ya' - ma
I loved the pictures of the animals, the giraffes look so neat! I don't know that I would have been to comfortable seeing an alligator either....maybe from far, far away. Thanks for letting me know about this entry, I did not get the alert. I've reset it again, hopefully they'll be up & running again. Great picture of the little squirrel looking for a treat!!!!

Lovely Kath! I really felt I was there.
Had to laugh about the marshmallows - self defence? I'm sure you would have been a more satisfying snack!

Love the pictures! Glad you said in your recent post about the problem with the notices. Sounds like you're having such a wonderful time! Keep enjoying yourself! Blessings, Linda
It appears my alerts have been malfunctioning for a few days. I see I've missed two entries. I just love the south US. I live far in the north. I love the heat and tropical weather. The water and boat just look so inviting. LOL..I'm not crazy about alligators either. I love the giraffe sticking its head in the tram. My the animals are so tame at the safari. Nothing like a good old steak at Longhorn, hunh? You look like you had quite a time. I saw many things I would have wanted at that gift shop. Now I'm off to read about New Orleans. Glad to have you back. Love xx Chris
