"IS IT AUGUST I WONDER"

(                Thanx to Chris of Cab's Creations for this beautiful graphic)

THE WIND IS HOWLING THE PETALS ARE BLOWING LEAVES ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE.

GLOOMY SKIES AND DULL BLACK CLOUDS NO SUNSHINE NOT EVEN A TRACE.

IS IT AUGUST I WONDER  THESE LAST FEW DAYS AS I GAZE THROUGH THE WINDOW  AND PEER.

IT'S SO COLD THERE'S KNOWONE AROUND MUCH AT ALL VERY QUIET FOR THIS  TIME OF THE YEAR.

OUR TOWN SHOULD BE BUSTLING WITH VISITORS BUT THERE ALL TUCKED UP IN THERE ROOMS.

THIS LAST FEW WEEKS THE RAIN AND THE LIGHTENING AND THUNDER HAS SENT OUT LOUD BOOMS.

OH DEAR WHATS HAPPENED TO THE WEATHER IT'S APPAULING FOR AUGUST TIME.

WE ALL SHOULD BE HAVING SUCH FUN ON THE BEACH AND LOTS OF LOVELY SUNSHINE.

THE WAVES ARE ROARING THE SHRUBS ARE BENDING LITTER IS FLYING VERY HIGH.

LASHING AND SPRAYING AGAINST THE SEA WALL AND SMALL FISHING BOATS I DO SPY.

TOSSING OVER THE WAVES UP AND DOWN  IT'S COLD AND BITTER OUT THERE.

I THANK GOD I'M INSIDE COSY  AND WARM AS I STAND BY MY WINDOW AND STARE.

OH I ACTUALLY SEE SOMEONE  OUT THERE A GUYS  HEADING DOWN TO THE BEACH.

WITH A LITTLE BOY AND UNDER HIS ARM A KITE WHICH WILL FLY OUT OF REACH.

IS IT REALY AUGUST I ASK  YOU I CANNOT BELIEVE IT IS SO.

AND I HATE THE WIND AND RAIN MY FRIENDS AS I AM NOT ABLE TO GO.

OUT SHOPPING AS I NORMALLY DO BECAUSE THE WIND IT TERRIFIES ME.

AND OH ! HOW SORRY I ALWAYS FEEL FOR THE FISHERMEN ON THAT CRUEL SEA.

TUGGING WITH  THERE NETS AND POTS  TO BRING HOME FOR US OUR SEAFOOD..

TO ENJOY AND I WONDER HOW MANY OF US THINK OF THEM WHEN IT'S TASTING SO GOOD.

I DON'T THINK I WILL FORGET THIS YEAR THE WEATHER THAT WE HAVE ALL HAD.

FLOODS AND THE WIND AND STORMS ETC HASN'T IT JUST BEEN SO BAD.

OH WELL I'LL SETTLE FOR SOME SEWING HAVE A COFFEE MY HEATINGS NOW  ON.

INSTEAD OF PADDLING IN THE SEA AND SUN  BATHING ON THE PROM.

WELL LET ME SAY TO YOU MY FRIENDS I STILL RATHER LIVE NEAR THE SEA.

EVEN IN WINTER TIME WHEN IT'S COLD THIS IS WHERE I'D RATHER BE.

WHEREVER WE LIVE WE HAVE TO HAVE HEATING IN COLD MONTHS IN OUR HOME.

SO I MUCH RATHER BE AT THE SEASIDE THAN INLAND EVEN IF SOMETIMES I MOAN. HE-HE.

SO WHEREVER YOU ARE IF IT'S COLD AND WINDY WRAP UP AND KEEP WARM TILL NEXT TIME.

I'LL BE BACK AT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK I HOPE WITH A MORE PLEASANT .

Agree with you Kath, never like to be too far from the sea - maybe because I'm a Pisces.  Hot and sunny here in the north west - about time !

I do wish we could send some heat your way.  Today they say we'll be 95 degrees and very humid.  Just like a sauna bath here.  Take care and stay in where it's warm.  I'm staying in where it's cool.  'On Ya' - ma

It's so strange to hear stay warm this time of year.  Especially here in Florida.  And I'd much rather live near the ocean too. No matter what the weather.  Love always, Shelly

Brrr...you are so right Kath.  Summer's definitely up the chute!  Perhaps the best we can hope for is a nice Indian Summer come autumn?  Let's all cross our fingers!!

Your lovely rhyme painted a vivid picture in my mind.  Too bad it's so blustery for you!  I was taken by the fisherman line, about remembering what they went through to catch it.  I watched the Deadliest Catch this year on television - since then I think about them when people mention Alaskan Crabs.  Stay cozy!

The weather over here has been strange this summer, too. --Cin

It's been chillier this week here, also, from beautifully not hot, to almost chilly.  Autumn approaches.

I just LOVE visiting here, love the way you string your words, so magically, so colorfully, each one meaning something. Thank you for using your amazing talent, rather than hiding it.
Love you,

Kath, we have had a horrendous August in Northern US.  It's been in the 60's and the rain and floods are terrible.  The storms are fierce.  It certainly hasn't felt like summer.  My poor pool is green with algae...lol.  It's sad because we have so few months of nice weather.  Now, the weird thing is that yesterday and today it is supposed to be 90 degrees.  I love the heat so I'm glad about that but oh the storms we get in the afternoon.  I'm like you, the wind scares the dickens out of me and also my doggie.  I've had shutters rip off of my house.  Hoping your weather clears up and you and the others can enjoy that lovely sea of yours.  (LOL....boy that is an oldie of mine but actually quite nice, if I must say so myself.)  Love xx Chris
