"WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WATER "

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WATER THAT CHILDREN SEEM TO LOVE.

AS YOU WILL SEE HERE MY GRANDCHILDREN  FIT IN WATER LIKE HAND IN A GLOVE..

I THOUGHT I WOULD LET YOU SEE A FEW PICS OF THEM ENJOYING THE WATER HERE.

AT  THERE HOME THEN OVER IN SUNNY SPAIN WHEN I FLEW  OVER THERE ONE YEAR.

IT'S A WHILE SINCE I TOOK THESE PICTURES SO YES THEY SURE HAVE GROWN.

BUT THEY STILL CONTINUE TO SWIM PLENTY IN A NEW POOL IN THE GARDEN AT HOME.

THIS ONE WAS THE FIRST ONE THEY BOUGHT UNTIL ONE NIGHT SPRUNG A LEAK.

THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED BUT THEY WERE MOPPING UP FOR A WEEK.  HE-HE.

IT'S AMAZING HOW MANY GALLONS THEY HOLD WHEN THEY ARE FILLED TO THE TOP.

AND ONCE THEY SPRING A LEAK I'M AFRAID THE WATERS TOO STRONG TO STOP.

CARERRA MY DEAR GRANDAUGHTER COULDN'T SWIM WHEN OUT THERE I WENT.

BUT IT DIDN'T TAKE LONG SHE WAS SWIMMING REAL GOOD BEFORE MY TWO WEEKS WERE SPENT.

ONCE SHE PICKED IT UP MY FRIENDS THEN HER CONFIDENCE GREW AND GREW.

THE ARM BANDS THEY CAME OFF ALL AT ONCE AND SHE JUMPED LIKE A KANGAROO HE-HE.

INTO THE WATER FROM THE STEPS I WAS AMAZED JUST HOW SHE DARE.

NO HOLDING HER NOSE WHEN SHE WENT UNDER NO SHE HADN'T A  CARE  HE -HE.

WELL THE NEXT REQUEST  WAS THE WATER PARK SO OFF WE WENT THE NEXT DAY.

SHE COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF THE BIG LARGE FLUMES YOU COULD SEE THEM FROM MILES AWAY.

OFF SHE WENT AND GRANDMA FOLLOWED HER JUST TO MAKE SURE SHE WAS SAFE.

LOOK AT HER LITTLE FACE ON LANDING  AND THE WATER SPLASHING HER FACE.

AFTER THE FIRST FLUME RIDE SHE HAD  ALL THAT SHE COULD SAY.

WAS GRANDMA PLEASE CAN I GO ON AGAIN WE COULDN'T GET HER OFF THERE NO WAY.
 HE-HE.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE WATER THAT CHILDREN SEEM TO LOVE.

I THINK THESE PICTURES TELL THAT STORY I HAVE PLACED IN MY RHYME ABOVE.

IT'S SO IMPORTANT IN MY MIND  TO LEARN OUR CHILDREN  TO SWIM.

AND IT'S GOOD FOR THE ELDERLY TOO I THINK IT KEEPS THEM  SUPPLE AND TRIM.

I USED TO LOVE MY SWIMMING DAYS JUST LIKE MY GRANDCHILDREN DO.

LOTS OF COMPETITIONS I WON FIRST PLACE WHEN  A GIRL AT SCHOOL.

I STILL HAVE ALL MY CERTIFICATES FOR ALSORTS I ENTERED  BACK WHEN .

A YOUNG GIRLTHE NEAT DIVE PLUNG AND THE FREESTYLE I DID  ALMOST ALL OF THEM.

I'M NOT AS FIT THOUGH NOWADAYS MY FRIENDS AND IT'S VERY RARE I GO.  HE-HE

SWIMMING IN THE POOL OR THE SEA  BUT I REALY  DO MISS IT SO.

SO WHEN I SEE CHILDREN  ENJOYING THEMSELVES IN WATER I JUST ADORE .

TO SEE THEM ALL ENJOYING THEMSELVES SPLASHING ABOUT AND MORE.

OH! TO BE SO YOUNG AGAIN AND KNOW WHAT I KNOW NOW.   HE-HE.

I DON'T THINK I'D BE SO UNFIT IF I'D CONTINUED TO SWIM SOMEHOW.

I KNOW THERES NOTHING TO STOP ME FROM GOING OUT TO SWIM ONCE AGAIN.

BUT MY POOR OLD LEGS HAVE HAD ENOUGH AND I KNOW THEY'D BE FULL OF PAIN.

AH WELL I HOPE YOU LIKE MY PICS OF THE KIDS ALL HAVING FUN.

OUT THERE AT THERE HOME IN SUNNY SPAIN SPLASHING ABOUT IN THE SUN.

MY GRANDAUGHTERS NAME  IS CARRERA SHE WAS NAMED  AFTER THE PORSHE  HE-HE.

HER FATHER DEALS IN CARS AND SUCH SO IT HAD TO BE HIM OF COURSE.

WHO CHOSE HER NAME AND WHEN HE DID  NONE OF US WERE SO  KEEN.

WE FOUND OUT IN SPANISH HER NAME MEANS  (RACE ) SO SUITABLE NOW  IT SEEMS.

AS SHE RACES ROUND AND IS QUICK TO LEARN TOO SHE DOES EVERYTHIGNG VERY FAST

IN ONLY TWO WEEKS SHE WAS SWIMMING LIKE A FISH BEFORE MY HOLIDAY HAD PASSED.

I BELIEVE MOST OF YOU HAVE MET JOSEPH HE HAS SENT AN HELLO IN FACT.

AND TELLS ME HIS FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WATER IS WHEN YOU LIE DOWN TO RELAX . HE-HE.

ISN'T HE JUST SO FUNNY BUT I LOVE HIM MILLIONS YOU KNOW.

AND I THINK I COULD DO TO GO JOIN HIM ON THAT AIR BED AND GO WITH HIS FLOW.  HE-HE

THEY ALL HAD FUN IN THE WATER AND I HAD A REALY GOOD TIME.

SO I HOPE YOUV'E  ALL ENJOYED THESE PICTURES  HERE IN " MY SIMPLE RHYME".

                                          KATH    ASTORIASAND.

A big hello to Joseph!  My goodness Kath, but this did bring a smile to my face, as your rhymes often do.  I loved reading your words and seeing all the photos of your little grandkiddies at play.  My you are blessed!  Simply wonderful, just wonderful.  Thanks so much for this.

Cheered me up, that did, Kath.  Been wet for two days here; chilly too.  Feel very sorry for local shops selling beach gear.

I know that all of mine enjoy the water too !  I love the air bed and floating about relaxing.  That is a bit of heaven for sure.  They say swimming is very good exercise and the water makes it easier on you .  Our summer days are dwindling fast and pools and such will close up in just a few weeks here.  I've yet to make my trip to the beach and am finding it very hard to find a time to go.  If not, it'll just have to wait til next year .  'On Ya' - ma

LOL..Kath, I would love to jump in that pool.  I would love to be in Spain.  Bet it's pretty warm there most of the time, isn't it?  I love the heat.  I think Carrera's name is just lovely.  She is one lovely little girl.  Of course, your Joseph is so handsome.  I bet you do miss them.  Hehe...Joseph has the right idea.  There is nothing I like better than just floating around.  Have yourself a good week!  Love xx Chris

Your grandchildren are adorable and they seem to be having sooooooo much fun!!  Yes, to be that young again.  Your rhymes are just awesome, how you do it I don't know.  One of my cats is in water all the time - I am having a hard time keeping the bowl full as he goes in - so one cat & kids...fit like a glove.  Great entry.
