"MOTHERHOOD"

(Thanx to Donna of D's designs for this perfect Graphic)

TAGGED THIS MORNING BY MARIE SHE'S PUT ME TO THE TEST.

SINCE THE GOOD LORD HE DID SEND ME FOUR OF THE VERY BEST.

"MOTHERHOOD" THE SUBJECT SO HERE ARE MY FEW LINES.

ON THE MEMORIES OF MY MOTHERHOOD IN THEM  BY GONE TIMES.

YES WE HAD OUR UPS AND DOWNS AND TWAS OFTEN VERY  HARD WORK.

I NEVER HAD THE TIME TO BLINK AND NEVER DID I SHIRK.

LEFT ALONE AT ONE POINT WITH THREE OF THEM ONE TIME.

I MANAGED AS WE HAVE TO I GOT ALONG JUST FINE.

UP AT FIVE EACH MORNING THERE SCHOOL CLOTHES TO GET OUT.

THEN THERE BREAKFASTS ON THE TABLE ALL OF THEM I'D SHOUT.

RUNNING HAND IN HAND I'D GO FROM ONE SCHOOL TO THE NEXT.

THE BOYS AT T/TIME ALL SLUDGED UP I COULD HAVE RUNG THERE NECKS. (HA)

BUT REALY I JUST DIDN'T MIND AS BOYS THEY WILL BE BOYS.

ANYWAY I ALWAYS LOVED TRAINS AND CARS BOYS TOYS.

MY DAUGHTER SHE WAS TINY LIKE A DOLLY VERY SMALL.

AND SHE NEVER GRUMBLED ANYTIME NOT  HAVING A SIS AT ALL.

THEY USED TO TELL ME MUM YOUR WRONG MANY TIMES BUT I.

WOULD WATCH THEM CLOSELY ALL THE TIME WITH MY BEADY EYE. (HA).

ONLY FOR ONE REASON I LOVED THEM ALL AND MORE.

AND NO RESPECT AND MANNERS I SIMLPY DO DEPLORE.

SO I WOULD TEACH THEM WHAT WAS WRONG AND WHAT WAS RIGHT EACH DAY.

HOPING THAT THEY LISTENED AND AT NIGHT I ALWAYS PRAYED.

DEAR GOD PLEASE KEEP MY CHILDREN SAFE AND HELP THEM ALL BE GOOD.

I SUPPOSE BECAUSE I WAS QUITE STRICT AND REALY THOUGHT THEY SHOULD.

WHEN TINY THEY JUST BROKE MY ARMS AND IN BETWEEN MY  HEART.

FORGIVING THEM AS I REALISED THIS NOW IS ALL A PART.

OF MOTHERHOOD AND LOVING RAISING KIDS  I LOVED IT SO.

WHEN ALL OF THEM AT ONE TIME THEY WANTED OUT TO GO.

TRY AND LIVE THERE OWN LIVES WHEN THEY WERN'T OLD ENOUGH.

YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY THIS AND SOMETIMES IT WAS TOUGH.

STILL IF THEY INGNORED ME AND LEFT  THEY WERE SOON BACK.

AS WHEREVER THEY DID SETTLE TOLD ME SOMETHING IT DID LACK.

YES I THINK YOUVE PROBABLY GUESSED WHY AS MOTHER WASN'T THERE.

SAT GIVING ALL HER LOVE TO THEM  AND RULES IN HER ARMCHAIR.

IV'E CLEANED UP MANY A MESS I'LL SAY WHEN THEY HAVE DONE THERE STUFF.

WHEN THEY WOULD GET IN CUBOARDS IF I WAS RESTING FEELING ROUGH .(HA)

TINY MINDS INVESTIGATING TRYING THINGS THEMSELVES .

REACHING UP FOR SWEETIES HIDDEN ON THE VERY TOP SHELVES.

OH YES THEY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME WHEN I HAD MY NAP.

BUT THEN I 'M NOT AFRAID TO SAY THERE LEGS I USED TO RAP.

ALWAYS ASK I USED TO SAY DO NOT TAKE WITHOUT.

BUT I BELIEVE IT DID NO HARM TO GIVE YOUR KIDS A CLOUT (HA).

IF YOUR A MUM AND BRINGING UP YOUR CHILDREN AT THIS TIME.

PLEASE TRY ENJOY YOUR MOTHERHOOD LIKE I DID IN  "MY  RHYME".

BEFORE I END MY RHYME I'LL SAY WHEN BABIES THEY WERE GOOD.

NEVER A NIGHTS DISTURBED SLEEP THEY SLEPT LIKE LOGS OF WOOD.

I MISS THEM NOW NOT BEING AROUND IT ISN'T QUITE THE SAME .

AND I'D DO IT ALL AGAIN RIGHT FROM THE MINUTE I BECAME.

A MOTHER IN THE SIXTIES AND I THANK GOD WAY UP HIGH.

FOR GIVING ME FOUR CHILDREN WHO MADE ME LAUGH AND CRY.

DON'T GET UPSET IF YOU THINK YOUR FAMILY'S NOT THE PERFECT ONE.

THERE ISN'T SUCH A PERFECT FAMILY  NOR THE PERFECT MOM.

I CANNOT WRITE DOWN EVERYTHING OR MY POST WOULD NEVER END .

BUT MY FOUR KIDS THEY ARE MY LIFE AND I AM THERE BEST FRIEND.

SO HERE ARE FOUR SMALL PICTURES OF WHEN THEY WERE ALL YOUNG.

NOW MY RHYME IS FINISHED I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE FUN.

THEY'RE GROWN UP NOW I'M PROUD OF THEM AND EVEN THROUGH THE RIFTS.

IN MY SIDE BAR AND BELOW FOUR OF  MY GREATEST GIFTS.

SO IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY ENJOY THEM NOWS THE TIME .

EXACTLY THE WAY I HAVE DONE  IN "MY SIMPLE RHYME"

(I HAVE TAKEN THE PICTURES OUT FOR SECURITY REASONS.)

  "US MUMS"

(Thanx to Missis For this perfect graphic too)

I'm not a mum, Kath, so nobody can Tag me for this!!!  I am so loving reading others' thoughts on the matter though, specially ones like this.  I would like to think that's how our mum thought of us.  Love, Angie, xx

Kath, simply beautiful!  It brought tears to my eyes.  I raised my three in the 80's but followed my mother's way of thinking.  Strict and manners, you can't replace that.  Yes, they've all broken my heart in one way or another but you are so right....no perfect children; no perfect mums.  The best thing we can give then is our love.  What sweet pictures.  I know you're still a mum they will always come back to.  Love xx Chris
